When replacing the sealing ring of a large stainless steel flange, you can follow the following steps:

First, preparation

Shut down the pipeline system:

Before replacing the seal ring, it is first necessary to shut off the medium flow in the piping system and ensure that the system is in a no-pressure state.

Prepare tools and equipment:

Ensure that all required tools and equipment are available, including wrenches, gaskets, and flange bolts.

Safety protection:

Wear protective equipment, such as protective glasses, gloves, etc., to prevent injury during operation.

Second, remove the old sealing ring

Loosen the flange bolt:

Loosen the bolts at the joint of the flange gradually. You are advised to loosen the bolts one by one in a diagonal sequence to prevent damage to the flange due to uneven pressure.

Remove the old seal ring:

After all bolts have been loosened, carefully remove the old sealing ring from the flange joint. Take care to avoid damaging the sealing surface of the connecting flange.

Third, check and prepare

Check flange sealing surface:

Check the sealing surface of the flange carefully for damage, scratches or corrosion. If the flange sealing surface is found to be worn or damaged, it must be polished or replaced.

Clean flange sealing surface:

Thoroughly clean the sealing surface of the flange with appropriate cleaners and tools to remove any impurities or foreign objects.

Fourth, install the new sealing ring

Prepare the new seal ring:

Confirm that the new sealing ring is the same size and material as the old sealing ring, and ensure that its quality is good.

Install new seals:

Place the new seal ring on the sealing surface of the flange, ensuring that it is tightly fitted to the sealing surface of the flange. The sealing ring should be installed in the correct direction.

Fifth, tighten the flange bolts

Diagonal fastening bolts:

Use new flange bolts to tighten one by one in diagonal order to ensure uniformity and tightness of the connection.

Check the tightening torque:

Ensure that the tightening torque of the bolt complies with the requirements of the product specification, so as not to affect the sealing effect due to too tight or too loose.

Sixth, system test

Perform system stress tests:

After replacing the seal ring and tightening the flange bolts, a system pressure test is performed to ensure the tightness and structural integrity of the connection. Gradually increase the pressure and observe for leaks or anomalies.

Check and adjust:

If any leakage or abnormal vibration is found, the test must be stopped and the tightness of the flange connection and the correct installation of the seal ring must be rechecked. Adjust or reinstall if necessary.
